Missionary Work

For thousands of years individuals have travelled to foreign countries with the intent of lifting
humanity and ministering to others. While many missionaries go exclusively
to share their religious beliefs, many also go to assist through charitable
examples. Every year thousands of people travel around the globe to
serve as missionaries on every continent. Missionaries represent any
of a number of religious organizations and many serve for a period of
six months to two years. Travelling as a missionary allows
individuals to have the support of an organization with
structure and common beliefs. It also enables people to
travel with a deep sense of purpose and compassion.
